● Heather Spohrs are multiplying’s Review & Giveaway

Posted on February 3, 2011 by Heather

A couple weekends ago I went to the Boom Boom Room gifting suite put on by my fabulous friend Jayneoni Moore. I’ll be sharing a lot of fun stuff I got there, but I absolutely had to start with this item. You guys know that I only do giveaway when stuff is awwwwwwesome, and I think this rules the school.

It’s called the Baby Hip Hugger, and it is GENIUS.

IMG_9884

It looks like a fanny pack, right? And it does have some pockets to put your keys, snacks, phone, etc. But the top of the pack is reinforced, so your kiddo can sit on it. You wrap it around your waist, then secure it with Velcro and an additional strap. The weight is evenly distributed and your kid rides on the seat with little strain on the parent. You can look at all the specifics here.

IMG_9875

Now, you all know that Miss Annabel weighs almost 25 pounds. She is not an easy one to carry. But with the Baby Hip Hugger, my mom carried her for almost three hours. That is craziness, people! My mom is a puny girl!

Mike and my dad love it:

IMG_9878

IMG_9860

The Baby Hip Hugger is really going to come in handy when we take Annie to baseball games. Since strollers aren’t allowed inside most stadiums we’ll be able to get her to our seats without any problems.

The best news? I am giving one of these awesome Baby Hip Huggers away! Holler! To enter, go to the Baby Nari/Baby Hip Hugger page on Facebook (right here) and “like” them. Then leave a comment here giving me an example of where you’d use the hip hugger.

Contest ends on Friday at 5pm Pacific time, winner will be announced after that. I received a free Baby Hip Hugger, but these opinions are all my own (and Mike’s, my dad’s, and my mom’s). This thing is too legit to quit, FOR REALS.

Good luck!

Ahhh…I’d love one of these! I have a 20 month old who refuses to walk on her own! She loves to be carried! When I went to the chiropractor recently he noticed that I was walking like I needed a V8! This would be a life…..and hip saver!

2 Nikki February 3, 2011 at 4:17 pm

Where wouldn’t I use this? My son really doesn’t like to sit in the shopping cart because he wants to see where he is going, this would be great for lugging him around once he gets tired of it.

It really is an amazing product!

Heather,,

I do not need this, but I want it.. fr my friend.. she just gave birth to her first son. He is almost two weeks old. Two weeks before she gave birth she fractured her pelvis… Jack is here but the fracture is still giving her fits, I don’t know how she birthed him vaginally…as I gave birth c-section..I am stupid in this regard…but I think she must me amazing?!?… I think this could help…so I am entering/commenting for my friend!

4 Dana February 3, 2011 at 7:58 pm

Hi! I would love to use this while on a walk with my 19 month old around the neighborhood. She loves to point at everything and it would be so nice to have her on me instead of in a stroller!

5 Kerry February 3, 2011 at 4:30 pm

I would totally use this at home to cart around my 15-month old identical twins while we chase my 2 1/2 year old around. I think it would save my back. And I left this post on the facebook page because having three boys under 3 has rendered me brainless.

6 Amanda February 3, 2011 at 4:35 pm

Ummmmmm, I would use this everywhere I take my 10 month old daughter. She usually doesn’t like to ride in her stoller very long, so I end up carrying her & pushing the stroller.

7 Paige February 3, 2011 at 4:49 pm

I would use it first thing in the morning and then around noon and at 5 but make my hubby wear it the rest of the night.

8 Molly @ Digital Mom Blog February 3, 2011 at 4:51 pm

Uhm. YES PLEASE! My 10 month old chunk of sweet love is darling but wants to be held and this mama’s back just can’t do it. He’s outgrown the sling and the baby bjorn just isn’t cutting it.

I would use this everywhere!! I want one!! What a wonderful idea to give mommy/daddy the ability to carry their baby longer…would definitely use this out and about shopping.

10 evsmarie February 3, 2011 at 4:57 pm

I would definitely use this around the house. After being separated all day – Miss Baby wants to be held by Mama all evening and sometimes the front pack just doesn’t cut it. What a great invention!

11 kay February 3, 2011 at 4:58 pm

i would love this considering all three of my children who are different ages could still use this!

I would LOVE one of these!!! I have back problems and with three kids under three, someone always wants/needs to be carried. All of them are too big for slings.

Ps. I’m giving away a handmade toddler dress on my blog you might be interested in for Annabel. She is so cute!!

I would love this! My 4 month old is 15.5 lbs, and she’s only going to get chubbier. This would be great!!

16 Tania February 3, 2011 at 5:06 pm

I’ve got two boys, 15 months and almost 11 weeks. I can see myself wearing 2 hip huggers and carrying both the kidlets around, especially because I think the younger guy is going to catch up to his older brother in size by the time he is 1.

17 Alisha February 3, 2011 at 5:07 pm

I would absolutely love one of these. I have two kiddos, an 11 month old and a barely 2 year old. One of them is ALWAYS on my hip.

Or on the other hand, my sister lives close to me and has a daughter with special needs who is 27 pounds and 19 months, she can’t walk on her own and is getting heavy to carry. I can see this being a life saver for my sister, mom and me when watching her and trying to get anything else done.

18 SJL22783 February 3, 2011 at 5:07 pm

AHHHH, I would LOVE this thing! I would rock it at the farmers market! That place is so crowded and a stroller is not ideal at all and she is too little to let walk on her own! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE this!

fingers crossed!

19 Alison February 3, 2011 at 5:08 pm

This looks awesome! And since my New Years resolution has been to lose these extra baby pounds and exercise daily, I would use it on my daily walks. I usually take the baby out in the stroller but she is getting to the age of not wanting to be strolled but to walk on her own or be held..considering she wears out walking on her own after 2 mins and my arm tires from carrying her 2 minutes after that, this would be the perfect solution!

21 Nicole February 3, 2011 at 5:13 pm

Forgot to mention this would be perfect for our trip to Disney later in the year, would be awesome not to have to continually take her in and out of the stroller for her to ride rides, go in shops and meet characters!

22 Michele Best February 3, 2011 at 5:11 pm

OMG! I could totally use one of these right now. I have a 2 year old boy that refuses to use a stroller anymore and another baby coming in August! Can you say lifesaver?

23 Kate February 3, 2011 at 5:13 pm

Ok, I NEED one of these. My chunkalunk son was so heavy he gave me carpal tunnel and I had to wear a BRACE on my wrist…lovely! New baby coming in May and I would use the Hip Hugger…um, everywhere??? That way I could lug the baby and Dad could be in charge of the toddler – we would rule the streets!

This is great! I’d give this to my sister in law to use for my niece when she is a little older since she is only an 11 pound, 4 month old peanut right now!!! As the only baby in our whole family, Lily is bound to get carried around for years to come!

25 Rian February 3, 2011 at 5:18 pm

I would so use this everywhere!!! But it would probably get most of the use at the grocery store. My son hates sitting in the basket and walks soooo slow, it takes forever to shop. This would come in super handy!

26 Cate February 3, 2011 at 5:21 pm

Um, when wouldn’t I use one? Our 11 month old screams like someone is sawing her legs off with a plastic spoon as soon as her butt touches the floor/bouncer/jumparoo. I NEED one.

27 Lex @laprimera February 3, 2011 at 5:22 pm

I’d need two! And of course, for the Dodger game! :)

And Disneyland too.

28 Ree February 3, 2011 at 5:23 pm

My kids are close enough in age that BOTH want to be carried. OMG would this save my aching arms.

29 Heather February 3, 2011 at 5:24 pm

I would use this with my best friend’s darling son, my 7 month old niece and… hopefully for a new baby in 2012 (fingers crossed!)

I would use this almost everywhere, but I can mostly see it being used when a bulky stroller is too hard to maneuver through the aisle, like at a boutique shop or certain department stores where the racks are too close together to fit some strollers. I would also use it when I walk to the parks around my neighborhood. My baby loves to be a “big girl” and walks most of the way, but every now and then she wants me to hold her for part of the walk. When I don’t bring the stroller, she gets heavy!

I’d love this. It would come in handy for carrying my 13 month old son around. He is getting REALLY heavy. It would be great for the quick trips into the store, at the mall, etc.

33 Selena February 3, 2011 at 5:29 pm

Oh, I need one of these, we got a bunch of places where we can’t take a stroller or it is impractical to take one and since my 9 month old is already over 23lbs this would be great to take some of the strain off of our back when we carry her!

34 Molly February 3, 2011 at 5:29 pm

I would love to try this! Is it mainly carried in boutique stores?

I have a chubby friend that LOVES to be held but unfortunately for her, my back is trashed from all her chubbiness. So I’m pretty sure I’d only take this off in the shower. Unless it’s waterproof?

PS and unrelated, the aforementioned chubby friend LOVES to watch Annie’s videos. She very much hopes that the next time the MN creepy contingent ventures west, she can be part of the group and meet Annie.

36 Keli February 3, 2011 at 5:30 pm

38 Ashley M. February 3, 2011 at 5:42 pm

I would wear it when we are at other people’s homes when we are out visiting or at parties. You know when the little one just isnt too sure about everyone around them and wants to cling all the time.

39 Abigail @ Skywaitress February 3, 2011 at 5:42 pm

I am a nanny for twin boys who are almost 15 months old. I would give it as a gift to my boss and her husband, because I know she has back problems, and as their boys weigh 26 and 21 pounds, I think she would appreciate it!

43 Molly February 3, 2011 at 5:49 pm

I’m not entering for the giveaway, as I have no kids, but I think this is BRILLIANT! I used to sit for a 2 year old and I use to haul her all around NYC and my back ached so much! I would have loved to have this!

44 melanie February 3, 2011 at 5:51 pm

I like Baby Nari on facebook. We like to take my toddler on walks but she poops out alot on the way home so this would be perfect!

45 Allison Zapata February 3, 2011 at 5:52 pm

I would use it so I would stop breaking my ass carrying around my gigantic child. xo

46 Heather February 3, 2011 at 5:54 pm

Great idea – and want to try it out. Really love the CatBird Baby Carrier I have but this would be a great addition, esp. with spring coming and lots of walks and running after a toddler and preschooler.

47 MARIETTE CAMBRUN February 3, 2011 at 5:56 pm

I would love the hip hugger for my next trip to Disney.

48 kelly February 3, 2011 at 5:56 pm

49 Traci February 3, 2011 at 5:56 pm

I want, I want :) This looks awesome and would really come in handy for my toddler and 7 month old!

50 sanela February 3, 2011 at 5:56 pm

this is awesome! i would use it while carrying my3 month old while we are running after his 3 year old brother at the park at home…we are alway running after him lol and my 3 month old was 9 pound at birth and is alreay 16 pounds so he is killing my back and my arms

51 Heidi February 3, 2011 at 5:59 pm

I would use this for my 11 month old son. Ready to start taking him to his first college baseball game this season and this would come in very handy!!! He’s 24lbs at 11 months so this would be a huge help!

52 Charlane February 3, 2011 at 6:04 pm

Oh gosh I would use that EVERYWHERE. My sweet daughter, Cake, has an anxiety disorder and is only really comfortable at home or on me. When we go out I carry her, yes all 35 lbs of her…anything to help with that load would be awesome!

53 StacieT February 3, 2011 at 6:08 pm

This thing looks awesome. I’ve been looking for something like this. I even bought a child carrier back pack (that I hated and returned). It would be so handy to use, especially because my boys still don’t walk and refuse the stroller!

54 Penny W February 3, 2011 at 6:11 pm

I like them on FB.

There are so many places I’d use this. One is getting the kiddo into the grocery store when it’s raining. Usually I stick her in a cart, but this would allow me to get her into the store and into a *dry* cart. Another is for running in to stores that don’t have carts…or the post office…or the bank… or…

55 stephanie February 3, 2011 at 6:12 pm

This is so neat. Would love to win it for my three year old who wants to be carried EVERYWHERE!

56 Julie February 3, 2011 at 6:12 pm

This would go straight to my bestie, who is due with baby #2 in May but who is helping her mom fight lung cancer – not as successfully as the doctors had originally hoped. I can’t afford to spoil her with gifts so have been sewing blankets and embellishing onesies and offering as much long-distance support as I can. She would love, love, love this.

57 Sara February 3, 2011 at 6:14 pm

I’m going to have 3 under 3 by July, and this would be very nice to have for our middle boy when we go just about anywhere!

58 Greta Meads February 3, 2011 at 6:16 pm

I would use this because I have a baby who will turn one in less than 2 weeks and I’m also pregnant with our second child. My 1 year old loves to be held and hates her stroller, so I carry her a LOT. But, that causes my back to hurt and I get exhausted due to the pregnancy. What a great idea!!!

59 Krissy February 3, 2011 at 6:16 pm

This looks awesome! I have a 2.5 yr old, that does not know how to wrap her legs around you or even hold on to you when you are carrying her! This would be awesome… I also have a 3 mo old… and this would be super handy!

60 Brenda Vicario February 3, 2011 at 6:17 pm

Unfortunately my husband never lets me but anything and I saw one of these and really wanted one about a month ago but he said no:(
Anyways I have a chunky baby like Annabel and would love one of these!

61 Shawna S February 3, 2011 at 6:18 pm

I would use it EVERYWHERE! We’ve tried all sorts of carriers, and our little precious odd one prefers to be carried or chauffered in a stroller (not necessarily her own). This would be great!

62 Brenda Vicario February 3, 2011 at 6:19 pm

Forgot to mention that I would use this awesome item everywhere, my home…the mall…maybe the zoo when he is tired of riding in the stroller…the childrens museum…the options are endless:)

63 Rebekah February 3, 2011 at 6:20 pm

I wish I had come up with this! What a brilliant idea. I’m due with my first in August…this would come in very handy for carrying the little one during my husband’s softball games!

64 Traci February 3, 2011 at 6:23 pm

This.Is.Amazing!! Our 18 month old adopted daughter may only weigh 20lbs but we live in Arizona and will be going to Spring Training games for the Dodgers and the Angels beginning in 2 weeks. How fab would this be to carry the baby in while my husband wrangles our other two darlings!!

65 kristine February 3, 2011 at 6:26 pm

What a GREAT idea!! Love it.

66 Adriane February 3, 2011 at 6:30 pm

OK, that thing looks too good to be true. I went and “liked” the page, and I’m here to tell you now…I would use that thing ALL. the. time. (My child’s new favorite word is “up,” and he’s using it to request to be held. He’s 19 months old and 35+ pounds.) So, the short answer is I’d use it all the time, but mostly around the house since I never go anywhere. My back thanks you!

67 Amy February 3, 2011 at 6:31 pm

Aw, it’s a little baby saddle! I don’t have kids but have TONS of friends who’ve had babies this year and would totally love to give them one. I am sure it would come in handy at church where so man of them have to stand and sway with fussy/sleepy babies.

68 Anne February 3, 2011 at 6:35 pm

Mom of four, gramma of 6 the 7th due in May! These old tired bones would love one to walk and help with my beautiful grandchildren! I never win.. but love your blog! Faithful daily reader! Thanks for always making me smile! Anne

This looks awesome. I would totally use it when I go shopping or out at the zoo. I also have a little chunker I need help!!!

70 Jenny February 3, 2011 at 6:38 pm

I would use this EVERYWHERE. My daughter is turning 3 months old on Feb 10 it would be so helpful while running around my almost 4 year old son!!

71 Jill February 3, 2011 at 6:39 pm

I’d wear it (and my baby!) to Disney World!!!

72 Sarah February 3, 2011 at 6:40 pm

Where wouldn’t I use this?? It would be sonice to lighten the load of my chunkalicious 5 month old as I drop my 2 1/2 year old off at preschool. There just isn’t enough muscle power to carry the back pack, lunch box, nap mat and 18 pound baby sister while holding big sister’s hand! It would also be great for my older daughter at the zoo. She likes to walk but wants to be held up to see the animals so this would be perfect! Also, the upcoming Houston livestock show :) and ALWAYS the farmer’s market. The crowds make it hard to use a stroller!

Oh my goodness! What a wonderful invention!!!!!!!! My husband and I are what some would call “world travelers” We have family in New Zealand, Australia, All over the US and friends in Europe. We now have a beautiful 2 month old who is traveling the world with us and this Hip Hugger would be AMAZING in airports! I am dreading holding Cooper all over LAX! There are so many places that it would come in handy especially on our dairy farm! We would LOVE one!!

76 Jen February 3, 2011 at 7:15 pm

I always say I am shaped like Big Bird – ha! Big Belly, No hips and tiny little legs, this is the answer to my prayers!!!!

I will use this thing EVERYWHERE!!!

78 Emily February 3, 2011 at 7:24 pm

Um, I would use this EVERYWHERE. My 23 pound nine-month-old is awful to carry around all the time. This think looks like the perfect solution.

79 lisa February 3, 2011 at 7:33 pm

So my kid, Emmett (sometimes nicknamed beast) is a giant. He will be 1 next week and weighs just under 30 pounds and is a tall as a 2 year old. He was just moved to the two year olds room because he is climbing on the 1 year olds and refusing to get off of them. Already a creep. But ok, back to the story. He is obsessed with me, likes me more than anyone else has ever liked me and wants me to carry him all the time. I can only do it for 10 – 15 minutes at a time. I feel your pain with annabel, love her face by the way.

Even if I don’t win I’m cool with it I might just buy it myself. Love your blog like whoa

My 3 year old granddaughter, who I raise along with her 3 brothers and older sister, loves to be carried. At my age back is usually killing me. She weighs 35lbs. Is she too heavy for this?

89 Emily February 3, 2011 at 7:56 pm

What an awesome idea…..why can’t I ever come up with new ideas like this???? :-) Anyway, I would definitely use this when we go on vacation to the beach. It would be great to use since getting a stroller on the beach is the the easiest thing to do!

90 Emily February 3, 2011 at 8:01 pm

This would be perfect for my 2.5 year old! She wants to walk and run everywhere so strollers and carriers get to be a pain to take her in and out of, but I still like to contain her a bit when places like the farmers market are crowded, or when we are at a place when she gets worn out like the zoo. She is a lightweight (26 lbs) but that still gets heavy after a bit! This would be awesome!

My husband is the baseball coach here where we live and my daughter HATES her stroller so this would allow me to carry her comfortably without having to see my chiropractor quite so frequently. :)

99 Rebekah February 3, 2011 at 8:53 pm

Ahhhhh, I would use this everywhere! I need to get one for me and one for my husband. We’re about to have twins to go along with our very energetic toddler.

100 Melissa February 3, 2011 at 8:58 pm

My son is almost 25 lbs as well and I would use this when going to the dog park because you can’t take a stroller through the grass and he is too little to be around the bigger dogs, it would be so nice to have a little help carrying him there:)

101 Funsize February 3, 2011 at 9:08 pm

Um…can I say I’d use this EVERYWHERE? Cooper hates the stroller and he’s getting heavy (20 lbs)- so I could use this when I go shopping, or pretty much everywhere I have to take him.

I have a very big 14 month old girly girl. Since she’s already glued to my hip, why not make it easier to carry her?! I bet I’d use this product daily, especially shopping at our Farmers market this summer. Very clever.

103 Sally February 3, 2011 at 9:16 pm

My son is a couple of months older and few pounds heavier than your Annie and honestly I would use this to walk to my letterbox (we have a long driveway!) He’s so heavy that even the simplest of tasks are getting beyond me now. He walks, but he wont walk far and he can’t keep up!
ps: the link to the FB page didn’t work for me.
pps: I’m in Australia and hoping you post here!!!

I would use the Baby Hiphugger at my brother’s house. His first baby was due three days ago and I will clearly look like the hip, know it all, child rearing professional now that my children are 5 and 7 with no suspensions on their records so I must be doing something right, am I right? I would show them this fancy a** contraption and tell them what a hip saver it is and they will be none the wiser that I never had the benefit of this fabulousness. This baby carrying limp developed because I did Not have the Baby Hip Hugger will be our little secret.

105 janice rieg February 3, 2011 at 9:44 pm

that would be amazing!

106 Inna February 3, 2011 at 9:51 pm

Love the idea,
my girl is 16 months old and very solid, would love to have this to help me carry her around everywhere!

107 Kara B. February 3, 2011 at 10:11 pm

I’ve a long time silent follower – mama of a 24 month old so I have been glued to your every word for quite some time! This product looks like genius to me – a real life saver! I’ve had a strained back for almost a year now, always thought it was from carrying my daughter… Come to find out it’s indeed a major back injury – that just won’t get better 10 months later because of being a mom! That’s how it goes – but this product indeed looks like something that might give me the big change my physical therapist keeps talking about! Thanks for the post!

Well this Hip Hugger thingy sounds like a wonderful invention. I have a 2 and half year old girl how likes to be carried but will walk! But I have a little boy on the way.. so this would be a life saver for when we have to go to school to pick up his sister or for outings! What a cool product!

109 JachiCue February 3, 2011 at 11:25 pm

This would be perfect to lug my big boy around the farmer’s market. My son’s gotten to the Point where he wants to interract with everyone we do, and not from his stroller.

So amazing.

110 Annie Younger February 3, 2011 at 11:52 pm

I would use this in lines at amusement parks.

112 Carrie P. February 4, 2011 at 1:06 am

I’d use it to carry my sqirmy 9 mos old while lugging my huge diaper bag, grocery bags, my 4 yr old’s school bag, etc. up & down the stairs of our upper condo unit. I’d also use it whenever I was out & about & the little guy refused to sit in his stroller or shopping cart. Heck, I’d probably use it everywhere & everyday!

113 Jen February 4, 2011 at 2:27 am

I would so use this everywhere! We don’t even own a stroller and I wish I had one of every baby carrier ever.

114 Kathy February 4, 2011 at 2:41 am

I would use it this spring to carry the new baby so I cantake her big brother to the park

115 beth ann February 4, 2011 at 3:07 am

i would use this for my 14 month old everywhere!

116 Candice February 4, 2011 at 3:29 am

I would use this to lug my 29 lb. 20 month old up and down the three flights of stairs in our apartment complex. It is so hard to carry him and grocery bags or really anything else besides him. This looks like it would be great for me!

117 kate February 4, 2011 at 3:34 am

I “liked” them on FB. I would use this for walks, the park, the boat (we live on an island and need to take an hour ferry to get to the mainland) and especially when I am alone with my 2 girls, one walks fine, one likes/needs to be carried and doesn’t help by using her legs….just a limp 30 pounder hanging off my hip….

118 Jennifer February 4, 2011 at 3:47 am

We are adopting a 15 month old boy from South Korea in a matter of WEEKS. It’s our first child and I have no idea what my arms are in for, but I would imagine that the Baby Hip Hugger would be EXTERMELY helpful!

119 Erica February 4, 2011 at 4:12 am

I would use it to hold my almost 1 year old son while I am at my 3 year old daughters’ dance classes. There is about 100 people shoved into a room the size of a closet and my 25lb chunky butt gets real heavy after a couple minutes and there is no room him to roam. I would love the chance to rock a hipster Hip Hugger!

120 Jamie Valentine February 4, 2011 at 4:14 am

I would use this when my fickle kiddie craps out half way around the block and I have to carry her all the way back home. :)

121 Claire February 4, 2011 at 4:21 am

OMGeeeee love this! I have to get out my stroller everytime I take my wigly 11 month old and 2 1/2 year old to pre-school because I can’t manage bags and holding hands and lunches and purses while balancing him on my hip! This would be so helpful for that! Love love love.

122 Courtney February 4, 2011 at 4:28 am

I would use this everywhere! We have an upcoming trip to California, and I’d love to leave our stroller at home. I’d also use it all around town (we live in Boston) – at the parks, the aquarium, the science museum, the zoo….the possibilities are endless!

123 rachel February 4, 2011 at 5:08 am

This is genius. What is a boom boom room? It doesn’t sound like a place one would get a hip carrier.
My 33 pound 20 mth old thinks walking is for the weak so this would save me from being a hunch back :)

I looooove this! My toddler has a super-fun habit of wanting to be directly on my hip during dinner prep time. She loves to see the action, and I love having her close. But after a while, I end up looking like myself 40 years from now, hunched over, walking slowly, clutching my aching back. This would literally add years to my youth!!!

125 Charlotte’s Momma February 4, 2011 at 5:28 am

I would love to use the Hip Hugger when we travel to Eastern Europe to adopt our daughter Charlotte. She just turned 3, but because of her Down Syndrome, she’s not mobile yet. I think it will help save my back, even though she’s tiny (less than 20 pounds). My husband will probably even wear it, LOL!

Hugs to you, Mike, and Annie!

126 Michelle February 4, 2011 at 5:36 am

I can’t wait until it is warm enough here to go to the zoo. This would be perfect for my 1-year-old daughter! (And I really hope I win because the budget is tight — no way I could buy one.)

127 Angela February 4, 2011 at 5:38 am

There isn’t anywhere I wouldn’t wear this! I was in the hospital most of my pregnancy and need to lose a lot of weight still. My chunky monkey and I go walking and I have to cut them short when he wants to be carried. This looks PERFECT.

128 Heather February 4, 2011 at 5:40 am

We go hiking a LOT in the spring/summer/fall and the backpack carrier doesn’t work so well now that our toddler wants to get down and walk. Or wants to be carried. Nope, he wants down again. Or up. And down and up. The toddler hip hugger would solve the logistical headaches that the toddler demands create.

129 meghan February 4, 2011 at 5:53 am

I don’t have kids, so I wouldn’t need one… but I have plenty of friends with children who I’m sure could use it. Especially my friend with twins!

130 Lisa February 4, 2011 at 6:08 am

I would love one of these. My son hates shopping carts and his stroller so I end up carrying him all the time. This can only help with my already crooked back.

131 Karla February 4, 2011 at 6:08 am

I would use this everywhere. Often when we are at the mall shopping she doesn’t want to ride in her stroller and wants to be carried. This would be perfect!

132 Amanda February 4, 2011 at 6:26 am

I would use this for my 13 month old EVERYWHERE! At the library, the science center, Target, the mall… But probably especially at the zoo this spring!

133 Barbara H February 4, 2011 at 6:28 am

I would use this one everywhere – with an almost 3 year old weighing in at almost 40 lbs and a 4 month old at 18, I have to carry someone around most all the time. It would be great!

134 Laura B February 4, 2011 at 6:30 am

I am expecting my first in July and I know this product will be a lifesaver. You see I am 5’3 normally about 115-120 lbs and my husband is 6’4 220 and we are having a baby boy. If my baby is anything like his side of the family it is going to be tough for me to tote him around and I will need all the help I can get!

135 Kelly Robertson February 4, 2011 at 6:41 am

OMG! I have huge babies and this would rock! We travel a lot because my family lives out of state, and I imagine this would literally save my life in an airport! Woo hoo!

136 Jacqueline February 4, 2011 at 6:55 am

I would use a hip hugger everywhere! I have a 2 year old and a 9 month old and I wear them everywhere we go. This would be so handy!

137 Kristy L February 4, 2011 at 6:57 am

I would use this everywhere! Expecting baby #3 in June and I am ALWAYS carrying someone on my hip! This would be amazing!!!

138 Amanda Miller February 4, 2011 at 7:08 am

I HAVE to get one of these! I have a 20 lb. baby girl who will be 1 in 4 days. And who loves to play the up/down game. What a brilliant idea!

139 Becca February 4, 2011 at 7:13 am

I wold so use that when picking up kids from school with all three of the little ones I watch! Its a good 4 block walk!!

140 Anna Marie February 4, 2011 at 7:17 am

I definitely need one of these to help me carry my 30 lb non-mobile son for those times I don’t feel like dragging his wheelchair out of the back if the car!

141 Sharon H February 4, 2011 at 7:20 am

Our first is coming this June, so while there is no need for this tomorrow, I know from nieces and nephews that this will be perfect for everything – especially those moments when there is no way the baby/toddler will want to be put in a stroller and just needs to be carried!

OK, enough brown-nosing :-) This would be perfect for us. I am in Minnesota, so as of right now I do not spend a whole lot of time outdoors, we have to be creative with what we do. I have a 2 year old and an 8 month old – it can be trying at times when we are at the mall or the indoor play areas when both kids decide they want to be carried! This would save my back for sure!!!

Thanks for your fun giveaways and the hair style ideas, they have come in so handy!!!

This looks awesome! I would use it at the zoo so I could lift my little one up high enough to see the animals. From the stroller the kids don’t have the best view over the walls/guard rails.

145 Chrissy February 4, 2011 at 7:34 am

I love it !!! :) My twin 7 yr olds are playing sports and we are always at either a soccer field or baseball field so I would love to use it with my 16 month old. ;)

146 Kerrie February 4, 2011 at 7:39 am

I have two boys, which are too big for this product, but!!! I work at a daycare in the toddler room which means someone always wants to be held at all times! This would be awesome because I could hold them easier, but also put them down quickly if needs be.

Thanks!

147 Melanie February 4, 2011 at 7:47 am

Well, I have a new baby due in July as well as a 3 year old and a 5 year old. I’d definitely use this as the new baby got bigger so I could still keep an easy hand free to wrangle the 3 year old as needed. It looks awesome! I think you sold me when you said your mom carried Annie around for three hours!

148 Kristie Neathamer February 4, 2011 at 7:50 am

I would LOVE this! My little one at 10 mos is not sooo little…she is about 23 lbs and is killing my back. Since she has refused to learn to crawl (she likes to roll) I doubt she’ll be walking anytime soon…which means I carry her alot and sadly she has out grown her sling. This would make shopping and going everywhere so much easier, since I also have a 2 and half year old.

149 Kelly February 4, 2011 at 7:57 am

With 4 older kids and a 16 month old, I could certainly use all the help I can get! This would be a lifesaver at the grocery store especially since she has figured out a way to wriggle out of the safety belt on the carts. She’s a little houdini!!

150 Connie February 4, 2011 at 7:58 am

This would be great to use with my first grandchild, I am sure it would save my back!! And with my second grandchild due in April, it will get plenty of use!!

151 Meagan February 4, 2011 at 8:12 am

I would use this at disneyland! With my godson who is 23 months and 28lbs! He loves being held but my arms kill me after a while…

Thanks for the giveaway!

152 Megan February 4, 2011 at 8:18 am

The bigger question is: when would I NOT use it!? My 2-year old only tolerates the shopping cart/stroller for a few minutes, then she wants to walk on her own, and when about 15 minutes (total) have passed, I begin to hear, “I wantchoo, mommy”… She may only be 26lbs, but that wears on your arms after a while!!!

153 Amy P February 4, 2011 at 8:20 am

I would definitely use this on a daily basis. I have two children under three, and they keep me busy. If one’s in my arms, the other one wants to be. I try to hold them as long as my arms can manage, but it seems to never be enough. This looks great!!!

154 Jill D February 4, 2011 at 8:24 am

I would use this when I take my 6 month old and 2 year old to go pick up my 6 year old from Kindergarten! Right now I am lugging the stroller out of the car every day to walk 50 feet to pick her up from her teacher. This would make life so much easier!

155 Hannah & Sam’s LaLa February 4, 2011 at 8:33 am

As a grandmother of a 3 y.o, a 2 week old, and another one due in October…this OLD back could really use one of those!!

156 Katie B. February 4, 2011 at 8:34 am

I would use this at the zoo. My son won’t sit in the stroller anymore, but he doesn’t have the stamina to walk the entire time so I always end up carrying him back to the car. And like Annie, he’s a big one!

157 erica L February 4, 2011 at 8:34 am

I would use it for my 18 month old daughter. I am about 24 weeks preg with #2 and it’s getting harder to carry my little girl but guess who wants to be carried! I think it would help me give her a snuggle and cook at the same time.

158 Jenifer February 4, 2011 at 8:38 am

I have an almost 25 pounder too and I would love to win one of these. We could use it to walk her big brothers to school. ;)

159 Jill February 4, 2011 at 8:39 am

Considering I have the laziest 6 year old who still likes to ride in a stroller, a 2½ year old, a 6 month old and one on the way due in August, I would use it EVERY WHERE!!!! I am still panicking trying to figure out the logistics of strollers and our car! I would give my then to be almost 7 year old a reality check, throw two in a double stroller and carry one on my hip. VIOLA! :o )

160 Darcie February 4, 2011 at 8:40 am

162 Kristi February 4, 2011 at 8:54 am

I’d pretty much wear this everywhere. My daughter loves to run around but that doesn’t work so well when we are out in public and sometimes, not even at home! So, I carry her as much as possible or put her in her stroller. It’d be nice to have the hip hugger so she wouldn’t have to go in her stroller as much when we are out and I think my back would like it, too!

163 Megan Antoine February 4, 2011 at 8:59 am

This is awesome! I would actually use this for my nephew who is 2 and has Spina Bifida. We have to carry him everywhere unless we have the stroller. Thanks for showcasing an awesome product.

164 AnnaLe February 4, 2011 at 9:02 am

Great idea! I’d use it when taking my daughter to an indoor market we like to frequent. It’s way too crowded to use a stroller and she doesn’t tolerate the carrier any more. This would be a perfect solution!

165 Heidi February 4, 2011 at 9:09 am

Thanks for showing us this great baby product Heather!!!! This would come in so handy for me. I just found out that I have Pelvic Organ Prolapse I am having a hysterectomy(along with some other very unfortunate procedures) in April and my baby will be 1. I am not allowed to lift her for 3 months after the surgery. But if I had something to displace her weight like… that, I would still be able to hold her. She is not going to take kindly to mommy not being able to carry her around for so long. Thanks for giving us all a chance to win one of these!!!!

I would give it to my parents to use when they have my niece…my dad would LOVE it!!!

172 Andrea February 4, 2011 at 10:25 am

Wow, what an awesome product, and quite frankly where wouldn’t I use it.
Living on gravel roads in the country, pushing a stroller around to go for a walk is out, but so is carrying my 10-month-old. This would allow us to go for peaceful, non-back-breaking strolls along the countryside!

I would love to have one of these! I can see it being VERY useful when I work my seasonal job at a strawberry farm. I could still bring my 16 month old and have her on me when doing school tours instead of breaking my back! The stroller was so inconvenient last year. Plus, I have one on the way, due in May and I am sure he will be a big baby like his sister. This looks awesome!

176 Stephanie February 4, 2011 at 10:42 am

I want one of those so bad! My son is the type of kid that refuses to hang on a little when you are carrying him, so we are forced to support all of his 30 pounds!

This would really help my supress my groans when I hear “Up! Mommy!”

I wish someone would have told me about one of these sooner!

177 Alison February 4, 2011 at 10:45 am

Just about everywhere!

178 Melissa S. February 4, 2011 at 10:58 am

182 Erin February 4, 2011 at 11:29 am

The Baby Hip Hugger would make an awesome shower gift for a co-worker of mine. She already has 3 small boys and she’s soon going to have a little girl. Since I can’t give her an extra set of arms, I figure another hip might come in handy. ;)

188 Megan February 4, 2011 at 12:21 pm

I ALSO have a 2 1/2 year old (who doesn’t eight a whole lot more than her little brother) that has a broken shoulder. Neither one of them like baby wraps, but want to be carried. I need help. I would use that at my other daughters’ softball and basketball games where it is hard to get the stroller to! Our baby is almost 20 lbs and we are on the GO constantly and I don’t always have time to get out the stroller or get her all situated in the ERGO.

196 Adrienne February 4, 2011 at 2:10 pm

We do a lot of traveling, and with 3 kids dont always have room for a stroller. This would be perfect for those cases!!!

197 TwinCitiesLynn February 4, 2011 at 2:26 pm

What a great idea! My husband retired to babysit our 2 youngest grandbabies, now 2yo and 6mo. I am lucky enough to work remote from home 80% of the times, so I get to be part of the fun too! Since we live in MN and the winters last for.ev.er we typically take them to the store or mall to burn off energy. Yep, this would work perfect when the rubber legs kick in and you have a long way back to the car!

198 Christine February 4, 2011 at 2:51 pm

I would love one to carry my 15 month old baby. I would use it at Disney land, especially when we are waiting in those long lines. I could also use it at the mall.

199 Pieces of a Sometimes Extraordinary Life February 4, 2011 at 3:24 pm

My daughter is now 24lbs and 30in at 10 months, and since I’m only 5ft 0in and sadly out of shape, carrying her around for more than a minute is next to impossible! She insists on being held and rocked to sleep standing up, especially when she wakes in the middle of the night, so I’d definitely be using this at home to help get her to sleep without destroying my back!

200 Amy February 4, 2011 at 3:25 pm

great idea! I would totally use this…ALL THE TIME… cooking dinner, switching laundry, you name it, my little always wants to “hold you” and how could I say no to that sweet little face.

201 Rach February 4, 2011 at 3:26 pm

I would use the hip hugger when our foster son is 7 months old and we have a newborn, 4 and 6 year old on top of that. IT WOULD HELP A TON! :)

Wow! Thanks for the great giveaway! My husband and I would love to use this when we go to the FOUR weddings we are attending this summer! One is local, two in Hawaii and one in Ohio!!!

203 Janet February 4, 2011 at 4:18 pm

I wouldn’t use it for myself per say, My youngest is almost 3 but I know of a very deserving family who just adopted a new born and the wife, Megan is an itty bitty thing so I’m sure she would use this all the time this summer and beyond….

204 Marguerite February 4, 2011 at 4:26 pm

I would love this-I have 5 kids the youngest being three(29 lbs) and 18 months(19 lbs)-this would be awesome when they want uppie! Plus let’s all admit it we wanted fanny packs back in the 80′s:)

205 Charlotte’s Daddy February 4, 2011 at 4:36 pm

I’d like to have it to use while I show my daughter around the Mall after we get her home from Eastern Europe. This Daddy’s going to have fun teaching his little girl all about the history of her adopted country!

206 Kimberly February 4, 2011 at 5:03 pm

I’ll be a new “Nana” come April and then again in August, what a gift this would be :)
